Life Equations #55

Poet David White has this fascinating line where he writes about attracting “the right kind peril.”

If we don’t encounter peril in our lives, we likely will not discover what we are capable of, or at the very least have stories to tell at a family reunion or a dinner party.

But there is also the wrong kind of peril where perhaps a foolish decision puts our life or others at risk.

I think of the “right kind peril” as a situation that prompts us to solve a problem we’ve not encountered before. The right kind of peril can lead to imagination, action and resilience.

Our 55th Life Equation is Right Peril = Imagination + Action + Resilience.
