My wife and I have spent time figuring out if there are equations that can help us experience happiness, define success, and feel at ease in our own life. Over the coming days I’ll share the list we have made.
The first one is – Greatness = Loving what is necessary.
This idea behind this equation comes from Frederick Nietzsche who said that a formula for greatness was amor fate – a love of fate. What he meant was it was important to want “nothing to be different, not forward, not backwards, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it….but love it.”
