I came across this thought yesterday, “Wherever we stop is the summit.” Which offers us two helpful insights.
First, we choose how high we will climb up the mountain that is our aspiration or goal. While there may be more to climb, or not, it is always our choice to continue to climb.
Second, we can perceive where we stop – our summit – as either a failure or a success. Sometimes we are able to continue but choose to stop. But other times a certain height is as far as we can go. Circumstances, fate, or even simply fatigue, will make a certain elevation our summit. In other words, “wherever we stop is the summit.”
