It’s interesting to consider what circumstances make us act.
We might act to fulfill an obligation.
We might act to avoid an embarrassing situation.
Naval Ravikant has this advice – “Inspiration is perishable – act on it immediately.”
Inspiration can be a big or small idea, creative or practical. But it is always an invitation to do something – to pick up a paint brush or guitar, to write out a mission statement for a new business, to write an old friend, or an email to someone we’d like to meet.
If you get that feeling – inspiration – act on it, it is “perishable.”

Hello On Emotions readers! I wanted to let you know I’ll be migrating this site over to Substack soon, which is a better platform to write and to publish a site like On Emotions. I’ll let you know exactly when it happens. All that will change is your email will come from Substack and not WordPress. Thanks!
