Rejoice! Rejoice!

Madeline L’Engle wrote a lovely poem called “First Coming” that ends with this stanza:

We cannot wait till the world is sane
to raise our songs with joyful voice,
for to share our grief, to touch our pain,
He came with Love: Rejoice! Rejoice!

Over the next 48 hours those in the Christian faith will celebrate the central message that a child was born from love. A love that embraces our grief and pain. A love that stirs us to offer a joyful song of praise and gratitude. Merry Christmas!
