A Moment Away

I was talking with a family member late last night about a playoff baseball game that ended with a sudden two-run home run and she said, “it’s like nothing happens in baseball… until something happens.”

And I thought, doesn’t that apply to more than baseball?

We work at a project, a hope, a dream, and it feels like nothing is happening until, something happens.

The blind date turns into the love of our life. The project we pitch gets a nod and a handshake. We wake up one morning and suddenly decide to run a marathon, take a painting class, learn how to samba, and we do.

That something, in other words, is always a moment away.
