In the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, American track and field athlete Noah Lyles did not have the result he had hoped for in the 200 meter race.
Lyles shared in an interview how he came to a realization at the time that “there is no deserving.” Meaning, although he was a favorite and had trained hard, no one is deserving of realizing a dream, it is always earned.
