From The Debris of Grievance

The media has underscored the idea of a “revenge tour” over the last few months with former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy desiring, for example, to eradicate the chances of re-election of those who pushed him from power.

Which got me to thinking, what would be opposite of a revenge tour? An “acquittal tour?” An “exculpate tour”? A “forgiveness tour”?

Because revenge is not a foundation emotion, nothing positive, beautiful, or hopeful, can be built upon the destruction it seeks. As someone said, “While seeking revenge, dig two graves – one for yourself.” But from acquittal, exculpate, and forgiveness, it is possible to rebuild something from the debris of grievance.
