Turn Focus On

We were coordinating an online symposium yesterday and reminded to turn our “focus on,” which means to turn on a feature on our computers so we don’t receive notifications.

It’s a simple task, but a powerful idea; with one action we can turn on and off our focus.

In some meditation practices you have a mantra that you say to yourself to keep thoughts anchored and focused.

And it occurred to me, one mantra might be, “focus on,” and then give yourself a time frame after which you turn that “focus off” – it could be 30 seconds or 30 minutes. But in that window of time, your focus is on.
