Maria Popova publishes a newsletter called The Marginalian and recently made the observation, “life is transient but possible.”
Meaning, everything that we know or see before us will in time fade, break, or die, but nonetheless within life’s limits we can discover and celebrate wonder and love, laughter and joy.
The “possible,” in other words, always emerges from and within the “transient” and it is in recognizing their relationship that we can begin to define for ourselves both meaning and gratitude.
