We were talking with our son how best to transition from when a work day ends to the rest of the evening and he mentioned how he intentionally plans what he calls “the thing after.”
He explained how he spends his entire day on a computer and looks forward to transitioning from the digital world of screens and keyboards to the physical world of recipes and cutting boards. Cooking is his “the thing after.” He mentioned without something to look forward to he could work 10-12 hour days. “The thing after” helps him create a healthy work-life balance.
Do you a “the thing after” that shapes healthy boundaries in your day and life?
