The Quiet Yes

Do you know the word, “inkle?”

It means “to utter, to communicate, in an undertone or whisper, to hint.” We are likely more familiar with “inkling,” which comes from a 16th century word and means, “whisper or mention.”

An author I was reading recently encouraged her readers to listen for the “quiet yes.”

In other words, if we choose to pay attention, we might hear the universe inkle. And that inkling might be a “quiet yes” to nurture a new idea, project, career, or friendship. The “quiet yes” might be to set aside a fear, anger or anxiety. The “quiet yes” might be to trust today will bring us happiness and joy.
