Yesterday I was having a conversation with a designer about how different wood stains and patterns interact. Pointing to a very light shade of flooring similar to a French Oak, I asked if this color would be in conflict with darker furniture. She said, “No, I think they would provide a lovely contrast.”
“Contrast” is a fascinating word and idea to apply when we are experiencing a difference of opinion or approach in some facet of our lives.
Meaning, we choose to perceive how a disagreement isn’t by default a conflict, and all that implies, but it can be a “contrast” that in time proves lovely and even beneficial.
