“I love it,” said tennis player Daniil Medvedev, who won the U.S. Open in 2021, played in three other major finals, and last night beat Carlos Alcarez to play for the championship on Sunday. “That final Sunday is the best. It’s only you…. if you want to win, you have to be alone at the end.”
Players who have won championships often remark how you can’t coach effort or compel someone to seize an opportunity. That kind of decision and determination can never be crowd sourced, it is an individual choice.
In other words, if we want to achieve a big goal in our lives, we have to be comfortable “to be alone at the end.”
