Jeff Tweedy is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. In his book How to Write One Song he encourages his readers to choose “verbs over nouns.” Why? Because that will guide you towards “what you want to do, not what you want to be.”
In other words, to move towards what we want to be, we first have to do things.
If you chose “verbs over nouns” which one would you choose – write, draw, run, pray, sing, dance, build, heal, align, discard, survey, surrender, launch…
Maybe write your one verb down somewhere so you will see it everyday? One verb to help you become what you want to be.
