Upper Limit Happiness

When you think of limits, what comes to mind?

For athletes a limit might be how long it takes to run a mile. For an engineer it might be stress on a joint in a building.

Author Brianna Wiest pointed us recently to the concept that many people have an “upper limit” of happiness.

Meaning, we believe we are unable to feel any happier than a certain level. This might be because we don’t think we are worthy of a greater happiness. It might be because our default emotion is trepidation or anxiety.

Take a few minutes and imagine what it might feel like to rise above the upper limit of happiness you have set in your life.

What is one thing you can do today to exceed your happiness limit? Because the level above your current upper limit exists. It’s waiting for you to cross that threshold.
