In a recent blog post Seth Godin made the observation, “they are all good days, if we choose.”
Godin’s point was when we’re young we think there will be an endless number of good days in our lives – when events will go our way, the weather is beautiful, and we feel happy.
Godin’s observation is those kinds of good days are finite. But if we have the right mindset, each day can still be a good day.
I often remember and think about the title of Hamilton Jordan’s memoir. Jordan was engaged in civil rights issues, was exposed to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War, became the youngest chief of staff in history to Jimmy Carter during a difficult time in his presidency, and was diagnosed with cancer three times. The title of his inspiring book, No Such Thing as a Bad Day.
Today is going to be a good day, are you ready?
