I was walking through the zoo in DC with my daughter when she mentioned how an otter will often choose a favorite rock when it’s a child and keep it with them.
They use the rock to break open mollusks, clams, and even to play. They store them in a pouch under their forearms.
As a child we often pick up a favorite emotion. We become the happy, anxious, curious, child.
But it’s never too late to pick a new favorite rock: a new favorite emotion. That one emotion through which we will navigate and open up our world; that emotion we will use to play.
What one emotion will you choose today to be your favorite?
Your one rock otter emotion.
